Special Welcome to our Group Members

Welcome to SCHOOLSAFE, a national school safety network where you can browse our resources, share documents and multimedia presentations, create groups, create your own forums and webinars, publish your papers and articles, announce events, and get the word out about your activities.

SCHOOLSAFE is also the first network in the world to offer advanced members the ability to communicate with one another by radio and other devices before, during, and after a school or university emergency.

As an advanced school or university member, you can use our online tools and communications systems to build an active network with your community partners. This is the most effective way to conduct joint planning, training, drills & exercises, evaluations, and follow-up actions. This is the ideal environment for sharing best practices, testing school safety technologies, discussing related legislation and policy, and actively pursuing school safety funding.

SCHOOLSAFE is also a productive environment for engaging parents, students, local businesses, elected officials, and the media.

Although you can freely access basic information on our site anonymously, we do ask you to sign up and become a registered member of SCHOOLSAFE. This will make it easier to send you an invitation to join your district or school, and as a member, you can build your own personal page and start your own networking.

Thank you for visiting SCHOOLSAFE.

Exam Tips

All exams are "open book." During the exam you may consult any study materials as long as you do not ask another person for the answers.

Questions for the exams are taken from the course summaries. You are not tested on content in the supplemental handouts in IS-362.

For IS-100.SCa, each exam page times out at 20 minutes. This limits your open book time. There are 5 questions per page.

All questions are multiple choice. Write down your answers on a sheet of paper as you go along. This way, if there is a computer glitch, you won't lose time when you start over.

Try answering the question without looking at the multiple choices. Then, if one of the choices matches your own answer, that's probably the right answer. But it pays to use your open book time to double-check.

The exam procedure for IS-362 requires that you first download the questions, then proceed to an online answer sheet that you submit for scoring. The procedure for IS-100.SCa is easier. The questions and the answer sheet are merged into one online document.

For IS-100.SCa, if you answer correctly at least 19 of the 25 questions you will instantly see a congratulations screen that you can print out. It may take several days before you are emailed your certificate. For IS-362, you must wait several days to receive your exam results and your certificate.

Don't stress over these exams. If you don't pass you can always keep trying until you do.

Good luck!
